Our projects team are the dedicated and hardworking people that ensure that after all the relevant documents are signed off and a project is approved, your installation is taken care of. They run with the implementation of your installation and they ensure that it’s run as smoothly, quickly and efficiently as possible – without ever compromising on quality or visual presentation.
Before an installation can start, our team has to make sure that our clients either have line of sight to one of our numerous towers within our vast wireless network infrastructure via microwave link or that Fibre is available in the area of a client’s premises. Fibre availability would depend on whether a Fibre backbone has been rolled out in a particular area. We work closely with the companies that specialise in trenching and installation of Fibre. We laise directly with these companies to make sure that Fibre is available, and to establish what lead times could be expected to connect a client’s business. If your specific building is not connected to Fibre already, it may take up to three months after placing the order, for your premises to be connected.

If the need for Fibre quality bandwidth is more urgent, we would do line of sight feasibility to one of our nearest towers to connect a client via a very reliable and dependable microwave link. We offer this as an interim solution for our clients when the Fibre rollout to a specific area takes much longer than expected. Our projects team will relay this to our Sales team to present our client with availability and options. Once a solution is approved by our client, this is when our projects team kick it into high gear to get our client connected as soon as possible. Firstly, our team needs to get approval from landlords and building managers for the installation of our microwave links. In some cases, we are faced with a few challenges. The link should not negatively affect the aesthetics of the building, but it still needs to be put up where we can get the clearest line of sight to one of our towers. We also need to determine the availability of landlords and building managers to grant access to our installation teams in order for them to start the installation process. Clear and concise communication is extremely important in these instances to streamline the installation and make sure we adhere to lead times we have provided to our clients. More often than not, the installations are completed way ahead of schedule and our clients can attest to this, as we have received many compliments regarding our work ethic.

Once the installation is complete, there is a 48-hour timeframe before handing the link over to our client. Within this timeframe, the link undergoes rigorous stress tests to guarantee optimal connectivity. The link is then handed over to our client, but that is not where the work stops for our projects team. If the client was still using Telkom lines, their contact numbers would have to be ported onto our network in order for the client to keep their contact numbers. The projects team will have to call Telkom and cancel the analogue lines and make sure that all the clients’ contact numbers are ported speedily so that a seamless switchover to our network is possible and our clients’ connectivity is not compromised in any way.
